Mike Usher

Mike joined the board as a co-optee in the autumn of 2020 and following the AGM and his recent success at the board member recruitment campaign will become a board member in September 2021. Mike is also a member of the audit and risk committee which keeps a close eye on the smooth running of NCH operations, including its governance and risk management.

For Mike, the wider social purpose of NCH sits at the heart of what the association does, by being more than just a landlordand playing the part in helping to build vibrant and sustainable, connected communities right across Newport. Mike has lived in the Rhymney Valley for over 30 years and is an accountant by training, and a career as an external auditor working with public sector bodies across Wales and the wider UK focusing on good governance, organisational performance improvement and value for money.
