Pitched daily story ideas based on false or misleading claims gaining virality on social media platforms, gathered and monitored using analytics tools such as Google Trends and CrowdTangle.
Before that, they were a content writer and editor at Next Step Foundation. And before that, they were a reporting fellow at The News & Observer Publishing Company, where they reported on breaking news relating to North Carolina's state government and the latest developments in the 2020 Elections, including recounts and protests. Chiara also monitored social media platforms in search of uprising trends in the community and designed visual graphics to accompany articles online.
Prior to that, they were a journalist at ProPublica.
Chiara Vercellone has a Master of Science in Journalism in Politics, Policy and Foreign Affairs from Northwestern University. Chiara also has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Journalism from the University of New Hampshire.
