Lauren Bishop

Lauren Bishop currently serves as an Associate Engineer at NextEra Energy, Inc. since August 2024. Prior experience includes roles as an Event Assistant and Undergraduate Researcher at FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, where research involved the chemical engineering department under Dr. Ralm Ricarte. Lauren completed an internship in Apparel Innovation & Manufacturing Engineering at Nike in the summer of 2023 and held an R&D Materials Engineering Internship at Sintavia, focusing on additive manufacturing and material development for aerospace applications in 2022. Additional experience includes working as a server at The Eat Shop and leading a sustainability-focused project during involvement with the Lemelson-MIT Program, where a $10,000 grant was secured for the development of a Sepsis Sensor System. Lauren also taught coding and robotics at the Young Makers Lab for students aged 7-13. Educationally, Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Florida State University, earned between 2020 and 2024, and graduated from Spanish River Community High School in 2020.
