Peter Barris

Peter Barris is Managing General Partner of New Enterprise Associates (NEA). Under his leadership, the firm has scaled from $1B to more than $13B in committed capital and expanded its operations to India and China. Peter has led investments in over two dozen technology companies that have successfully completed public offerings or mergers. He serves on the boards of APX Labs, Goji Food Solutions, Groupon (GRPN), MediaOcean, SnagFilms, Sprout Social, Tamr, and ZeroFox. He has been named several times to the Forbes Midas List of top technology investors, to Crain's Chicago 50 Top Tech Stars and to Washington Tech Council's Hall of Fame. Peter serves as Vice-Chair on the Northwestern University Board of Trustees and the Board of the Tuck School Private Equity and Entrepreneur Center. He has a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from Dartmouth.
