Dr. Cairo Forrest is an accomplished ecologist with extensive experience in environmental and biological sciences. Currently serving as the Practice Leader in Ecology and Principal Ecologist at Niche Environment and Heritage since June 2017, Dr. Forrest has held multiple senior roles within the organization, including Senior Associate and Associate. Previous professional experience includes a position as an Ecologist at Kleinfelder, and a significant academic tenure at the University of Wollongong, where Dr. Forrest conducted PhD research and served as a Biology Demonstrator in Ecology and Genetics. Additional roles include Genomics Scientist positions at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and Millennium Institute, as well as teaching English through the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program and coaching tennis at the City West Tennis Academy. Dr. Forrest holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Sydney, a BSc Honours in Biology, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Ecology and Genetics from the University of Wollongong.
