Ben Thornton

Ben Thornton is a seasoned professional in the wind turbine industry with extensive experience in blade inspection, repair, and operational management. Currently serving as Senior Blade Expert at Nordex Group since October 2019, Ben has held multiple roles including Blade Operations Manager and Blade Service Coordinator, focusing on repairs and inspections during the construction phase of Nordex turbines. Prior experience includes project management and rotor blade technician roles at Altitec, as well as inspection engineering positions at CAN (Offshore) Ltd and Bilfinger Salamis UK, where supervision of non-destructive testing (NDT) activities at height was a key responsibility. Ben's career began with technical roles involving rope access and maintenance supervision, showcasing a strong foundation in safety and technical expertise in high-altitude work environments. Education was completed at Bristol Grammar School from 1987 to 1992.
