Alec Ferris

Alec Ferris currently serves as a Medical Surgical Nurse in the Neurology/Urology Department at North Memorial Health since April 2023, providing direct patient care for various medical conditions. Additionally, Alec has been an Assistant Childcare Specialist with the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board since January 2022, focusing on elementary before and after school childcare and summer programming for children ages 3-10. Previous experience includes working as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Minneapolis Public Schools, assisting students with emotional and behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental cognitive disabilities. Additionally, Alec has held roles as a Summer Camp Assistant at the Bell Museum of Natural History and a Teaching Assistant for youth programs at the University of Minnesota, and served as a Patient Care Assistant, aiding with mobility and physical therapy exercises. Alec holds a Master's degree in Nursing Practice from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing and an undergraduate degree in Biology, Society, & Environment from the University of Minnesota. Education was completed at Cathedral High School.
