Norton Lilly International was founded in 1841 as the Norton Company, giving it the title of the oldest shipping agency in the United States. NLI and its related companies provide services for all types of bulk, liner, tanker, reefer and passenger vessels and handle over 20,000 port calls per year, assuring ship owners and operators the broadest range of representation with the highest level of service.

Founded in 1841, we have evolved and progressed within the shipping industry as the company expanded through mergers and acquisitions. In 2002, Norton Lilly became the combination of three of the most highly-respected companies in the ship agency business, Strachan Shipping Agency, Kerr Norton Marine and Norton Lilly International. This merger created a robust and versatile shipping agent poised to evolve in an ever-changing industry, creating one of the largest providers of agency services in North America.
