Marianna Karounos

Marianna Karounos, DO, MS, FACEP, currently serves as System Medical Director and Facility Medical Director at TeamHealth, and as System Wellness Officer and Chair of Emergency Medicine at Nuvance Health's Vassar Brothers Medical Center since November 2021. Previously, Marianna held the positions of Chief of Emergency Medicine, Medical Director of the Geriatric Emergency Department, and Attending Physician in Emergency Medicine at St. Joseph's Health from July 2013 to November 2021. Earlier experience includes time as an Attending Physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and as a Geriatric Emergency Medicine Fellow from July 2011 to June 2013, as well as completing an Emergency Medicine residency at St. Joseph's Health from July 2007 to June 2011. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Osteopathy from the New York Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from Cornell University Graduate School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from New York University.
