Dylan Bergen, PhD, currently serves as a Policy Officer at NWO (Dutch Research Council) since November 2022, focusing on enhancing science through an open and equitable research environment both domestically and internationally. Prior to this role, Dylan held multiple positions at the University of Bristol from September 2012 to November 2022, including Research Fellow for Versus Arthritis, where research centered on osteoporosis utilizing in silico prioritised genes in zebrafish and tissue culture cells. Dylan also contributed as a Research Associate and an Elizabeth Blackwell Institute Postgraduate Fellow, engaging in bioinformatics and big genomic data analysis related to bone mineral density. Dylan's academic journey includes obtaining a PhD in Cilia and Extracellular Matrix from the University of Bristol, along with Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Cancer Genomics, Developmental Biology, and Life Sciences from Utrecht University and HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, respectively.
