John Marks

John Marks is an experienced professional in the scientific research sector, currently serving as an External Member of the Program Committee for Caribbean Research at NWO since December 2018. Concurrently, John holds the position of Program Evaluator for the European Commission since August 2012, contributing to various research infrastructures and projects. Additionally, John operates as an Independent Science Policy Professional and Research Manager with ISPSM since March 2009. Previous roles include Vice President of the Netherlands National Commission for UNESCO and Chairman of the Board at NWO SRON Netherlands Institute for Space Research. Furthermore, John has been involved in various committees and evaluations within national and international research contexts. John earned a Dr degree in physics from Leiden University from 1964 to 1985.
