Melissa Alcivar

Melissa Alcivar is a dedicated mental health professional currently serving as a Therapist at New York Psychotherapy and Counseling Center (NYPCC) since June 2024. Previously, Melissa was an IHELP Fellow at Mercy University from November 2021 to June 2024, focusing on providing mental health services to at-risk children, adolescents, and transitional-aged youth. Melissa's experience includes a successful role as an Admissions Recruiter, achieving significant increases in inquiries and applications for Bronx high schools. Additionally, Melissa completed a Mental Health Counseling Internship at Gateway Counseling Center, Inc., and worked as a Sr. Statistical Clerk at Montefiore Health System, where responsibilities included managing blood sample processing. Melissa holds a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Psychology, both from Mercy University.
