Stuart Doig is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in the sports industry, currently serving as Senior Legal Counsel at New Zealand Rugby since April 2016. In this role, Stuart provides commercial legal advice and services across all teams, focusing on drafting sponsorship and licensing contracts, as well as managing the annual Board recruitment process and AGM. Prior to this position, Stuart was Legal Counsel at New Zealand Rugby Union from July 2007 to August 2015, where responsibilities included advising the commercial team on sponsorship, licensing, and broadcasting matters, in addition to managing the organization's intellectual property portfolio. Additionally, Stuart held the position of General Counsel at Meat and Wool New Zealand from July 2002 to June 2007. Stuart holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Canterbury, earned between 1987 and 1990.
