Kedrick Armstrong

Music Director at Oakland Symphony

Kedrick Armstrong currently serves as the Music Director for the Oakland Symphony and the Creative Partner & Principal Conductor for the Galesburg Symphony Society, with experience extending back to September 2022. Recent roles include Assistant/Cover Conductor for Opera Theatre of Saint Louis during productions of Puccini's Tosca and Floyd's Susannah, and Conductor for the world premiere of The Factotum at Lyric Opera of Chicago. Earlier positions include Guest Conductor for various Oakland Symphony events and the Chicago Opera Theater, as well as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder, where Kedrick earned a Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting. Education also includes a Bachelor's Degree in Music History and Literature from Wheaton College and a High School Diploma with an Arts Diploma in Music from the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities.
