Kate Elmes

Kate Elmes is an experienced leader in philanthropy and women's advocacy, currently serving as the Director of Philanthropy at the Olympia Snowe Women's Leadership Institute and as a Commissioner for Maine's Permanent Commission on the Status of Women. Previously, Kate held multiple roles at Trekkers, including Deputy Director and Interim Executive Director, where the focus was on youth development and mentoring. Kate also served as Chair of the Maine Permanent Commission on the Status of Women, advising state officials on matters affecting women and girls. In addition, Kate has contributed to Emerge Maine's mission to empower Democratic women in politics and has worked as a Development Officer for the Island Institute. With a degree in Political Science and Women's Studies from Lesley University, complemented by a brief educational experience at American University, Kate's background includes internships with the U.S. House of Representatives, emphasizing strong communication and legislative research skills.
