Melanie D'Evelyn

Melanie D'Evelyn serves as the Colorado Executive Director for One Million Degrees since April 2022, leading outreach efforts to adult students in collaboration with the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative and Adams County. As Principal of D'Evelyn Public Consulting since January 2015, expertise includes public policy and management consultancy with notable clients such as the Colorado Department of Higher Education. Previously, Melanie D'Evelyn held the position of Senior Director for the Detroit Drives Degrees initiative at the Detroit Regional Chamber Foundation from July 2016 to April 2022, promoting collaboration among educational institutions. Other experience includes roles as a Policy and Research Fellow at Excellent Schools Detroit, Legislative Director for the Christian Science Church's Government Affairs Division, Project Director at the Center for the Study of the Presidency & Congress, and a consultant for Transparency International. Melanie D'Evelyn earned a Master in Public Policy from Princeton University and a BA in Political Science and Religion from Principia College.
