Matthew Pearlson

Mr. Pearlson is advising OpenGate and its portfolio companies on the application of new technologies, as well as performing due diligence on investment opportunities. A technology expert with domain experience across several scientific and engineering disciplines, Mr. Pearlson’s work has been used to inform and support enterprise decision-making, and federal legislation, and has been cited in numerous peer-reviewed academic journals. His expertise is in software design and testing, petroleum refining, alternative fuels production, utility-scale renewable energy systems, multi-modal transportation optimization, advanced manufacturing and digitization, and additive manufacturing.

Mr. Pearlson holds positions both as a Research Specialist in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT, and as a General Engineer at the US DOT Volpe National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has been providing expert analysis on technologies to the private equity industry since 2009.
