Ben Donohue

VP of Software at Opentrons

Ben Donohue is the Vice President of Software at Opentrons. Ben has over fifteen years of experience in the software industry, with a focus on engineering management and software development.

Donohue began their career as a QA Engineer at CCBN.com in October 2000. Ben then became a Web Developer at Thomson Financial in April 2004, and Development Manager at Sonicbids in November 2006. In November 2009, they joined MediaMath as Vice President, Engineering, where they oversaw the engineering department and was a member of the executive team. Some of their key accomplishments and responsibilities during their time at MediaMath include 50% growth in engineering staff, implementation of a roadmap framework, creation of an escalation protocol, management of vendors, and reorganization of the team with well-defined levels/roles. All while shipping functionality and features on a regular basis.

In May 2017, Donohue joined Flashpoint as Vice President of Engineering. At Flashpoint, they delivered Business Risk Intelligence (BRI) to empower business units and functions across organizations to make better decisions and mitigate risk. The company's unique Deep & Dark Web data, expertise, and technology enabled customers to glean intelligence that informed risk and protected their ability to operate. Ben left Flashpoint in November 2018.

Donohue joined Opentrons as Vice President of Software in December 2018. In this role, they are responsible for leading the software team and managing all aspects of software development, from product ideation and design to engineering and quality assurance. Ben is also responsible for defining and executing the company's software roadmap and ensuring that all products are delivered on time and meet or exceed customer expectations.
