John Reynolds

John Reynolds is currently a Performance Analyst at Optimal. Prior to that, they were the Healthcare Digital Operations Business Lead at Cognizant from May 2020 to January 2022. Before that, they were the Senior Vice President at Optum from March 2015 to August 2018.

Reynolds is responsible for driving large (+$100,000,000 TCV) new business growth of the healthcare business process as a service (BPaaS) business line. John's responsibilities include fostering and nurturing C-Suite relationships with clients that yield opportunities for over $100,000,000 in TCV and developing thought leadership blogs and speaking engagements that highlight Cognizant capabilities and the emerging outcomes-based model that drives BPaaS relationships.

At Optum, they were responsible for all aspects of strategic business planning, sales, product management, operations and relationship management of Optum Connect. During their time there, they created a new business unit within OptumInsight to accelerate growth through large enterprise relationships and achieved new business growth in excess of $270 million in contract value in less than 18 months. John also sold the first large ITaaS/BPaaS contract into a Blue Cross Blue Shield plan and opened the door for Optum to expand sales into other Blues plans for similar services. In addition, they launched an innovative machine learning provider network steerage application partnership for UnitedHealthcare that will reduce clinical spend by 2-5%.

John Reynolds has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Management and Administration in Marketing from Metro State University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Organization and Management from Capella University. John also has certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in Commercial Pilot - Single & Multi Engine - Instrument and Flight Instructor - Instrument - Single & Multi Engine.
