Ariel Segura

Ariel Segura currently serves as the Interim Zoo Apprenticeship Program (ZAP) Coordinator and Conservation Learning Specialist at Oregon Zoo since February 2022. Ariel has a diverse background, holding the role of Lincoln Street Program & Partnership Administrator at Greater Than from May 2021 to April 2023 and participating in the Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program at Portland State University in early 2022. Previous experience includes positions such as ZAP Outreach Coordinator & Community Advocacy Council Staff Advisor at Oregon Zoo, Organizer in Training at OPAL Environmental Justice Oregon, and various roles in customer service and support at Ruby Receptionists and Nike. Ariel completed a degree in Sociology & Liberal Studies at Portland State University from September 2017 to August 2022, with early involvement in community-focused roles through the ZAP internship program aimed at supporting marginalized youth.
