Colin Lawrence

One of the world’s foremost experts in risk management, Colin Lawrence joins OSTC as a Non-Executive Director to help implement leading edge analytics for risk management, while also boosting profitability. He chairs OSTC’s risk and compliance committee.

Equipped with a PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago, Colin’s career has spanned a variety of global roles in consulting, trading, regulation and academia for the likes of Barclays, UBS and IBM to name a few. As former director of risk specialist supervision for the Financial Services Authority, and strategic risk advisor for the Prudential Regulation Authority, he was responsible for developing the UK’s financial services sector stress testing framework and technology. Colin is currently director of Risk and Financial, which specialises in the training of bankers,is a member of theacademic advisory board member at intelligence provider IHS Markit, and is a strategic advisor to Astana International Financial Centre in Kazakhstan.

Colin previously served as chairman and vice chairman of its Prmia global board. He is also honorary visiting professor in risk management and regulation at University College, London. Colin will use the insights gained in this variety of experiences to help drive OSTC’s strategy and risk framework.
