Robert Henderson is a Professor at the University of Edinburgh since April 2005, specializing in research related to CMOS Microelectronics, Single Photon Avalanche Diodes, and Optical Sensors and Systems. Henderson currently serves as an Advisor for Ouster Automotive, a role taken on in October 2021, and was previously the Chief Scientific Officer at Sense Photonics from October 2018 to October 2021. Prior to these roles, Henderson contributed to the development of CMOS Image Sensors as a Principal Analogue Design Engineer at ST Microelectronics from December 1999 to April 2005 and as a Senior Analogue Design Engineer at VLSI Vision Ltd from October 1996 to December 1999. Earlier career experience includes working as a Research Engineer at CSEM, focusing on the design of sigma-delta ADCs and DACs for hearing aids and analogue CAD software development from April 1991 to October 1996. Henderson holds a BSc and PhD in Electronic Engineering from the University of Glasgow, completed between 1982 and 1990.
