Wei du

Wei Du is an accomplished professional in the field of electrical and electronics engineering, currently serving as the Solar Subsector Manager at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) since March 2018. In this role, Wei manages the US Department of Energy Solar Energy Technology Office program. Concurrently, Wei holds an Interim Co-Director position at the PNNL-WSU Advanced Grid Institute, focusing on advanced grid modeling. As a Principal Investigator, Wei leads multiple multi-million dollar DOE-funded projects aimed at assessing the impact of inverter-based resources on power system stability, developing sophisticated modeling and simulation platforms. Wei also serves as a Research Associate Professor at Washington State University, is an editor for IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, and previously worked as a postdoctoral research associate and research engineer. Wei earned a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Tsinghua University and has held various research positions that highlight a strong commitment to advancing power system technologies.
