Arlene is inspired by connecting dots and observing patterns at the intersection of technology and emerging business models with a direct emphasis on serving the marginalized communities. She is passionate about addressing challenges while delivering on re-imagined possibilities which include participation from public for-profit entities to nonprofits to the public sector. As a systems thinker, she thrives in ambiguity and discovery of complex problems with a strong belief rooted in the co-creation of solutions bound by a variety of perspectives.
With 14 years of Corporate Tech Sales / Global Emerging Technology Strategy, Consulting, and Non-Profit experience, Arlene has an expansive background leading to her unique perspectives and fundamental understanding of cross-sector solutioning. With a natural ability to be both analytical and creative, Arlene is continually forging a new path while consciously bridge building and uniting sectors and mindset historically operating in silos. She has spoken on Leadership Topics at California Universities and led workshops on Career Navigation at the national conferences hosted by the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. She has also been featured on a variety of podcasts such as “Value through Vulnerability” and “TNT Explode the Status Quo”.
In addition, she is an investor with SheEO, a progressive eco-system funding female CEOs around the world and sits on the Board of Directors of Moran Consulting, a Civil Engineering firm in Long Beach, CA.
Arlene has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and a Masters in Business Administration from Mills College in Oakland, CA. She’s bilingual (English/Spanish) , her family is from Oaxaca, Mexico and she currently lives in Sacramento, CA. She loves bachata, salsa, and hip hop and is obsessed with podcasting and audible. As an avid learner, she’s continually challenging herself with Sudoku’s, watercolor, cooking up new found asian recipes and awaiting the new season of the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. As a global traveler she’s been to over 25 countries and after college lived in Rome, Italy for a year teaching English to Italian Diplomates.
