Päivi Ellonen

Päivi Ellonen is a product development engineer at Paptic. Prior to their current position, they worked as a research scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland from June 2007 to May 2012. There, they specialized in enzymatic modification of nano fibrillated cellulose and synthetic materials, including characterizing enzymes, reaction kinetics, polymerization reactions, and analysis of film surfaces. Päivi also produced solid fiber based foams. Analysis techniques they are experienced in include contact angle, optical profiler, MALDI TOF MS, SEM, spectrophotometry, tensile and compression stregths, and different chemical assays.

Before their time at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, Päivi worked as a production assistant at Pelma Oy Suodatintehdas from January 2005 to July 2006. There, they were responsible for production planning, stock management, material orders, and product deliveries.

Päivi Ellonen graduated from Tampere University of Technology in 1965 with a Master of Science in Fibre and Chemical Textile Technology. Päivi then went on to study Chemistry and Biomaterials Technology at the University of Helsinki. After completing their studies, they worked as an Industrial Manager for several years.
