Deborah Walter

Deborah Walter is a dedicated researcher currently pursuing a PhD at Paul Scherrer Institut PSI, where exploration of bistable visual pigments as opto-GPCRs is the primary focus. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Associate at Bright Peak Therapeutics, involving protein folding and characterization, and a Visiting Researcher position at PSI, collaborating on GPR19 investigations using Cryo-EM techniques. Deborah's academic background includes a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a specialization in Neuroscience from the University of Antwerp and a double Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Johannes Kepler Universität Linz. Previous research efforts encompassed signaling bias in G protein-coupled receptors, multidimensional efficacy profiles of human receptors, and microbial DNA quantification in Arctic permafrost soil.
