Larry Ziemba

Mr. Ziemba joined the Board of Directors of PBF Logistics GP LLC as an independent director in January 2020 and he serves on the Audit and Conflicts Committee. He retired from Phillips 66 as Executive VP, Refining and a member of the Executive Committee in December 2017. He held this position since the company’s separation from ConocoPhillips in May 2012. His responsibilities included operations, P/L, and the strategic direction of the company’s 13 refineries in the US, Europe, and Asia. He also served as Chairman, WRB LP a joint venture with Canadian oil producer Cenovus. Prior to 2012, he was President, Global Refining and served on the Executive Committee of ConocoPhillips. During his career, he held various positions in downstream for ConocoPhillips, Phillips Petroleum, Tosco, and Unocal. Originally from Chicago, he started his career in 1977 with Unocal. In 1988, he moved to Unocal’s Los Angeles headquarters as Manager of Planning and Business Development for the downstream business. In 1991, he managed the acquisition of Shell’s Los Angeles operations. In 1997, Larry joined Tosco as they acquired Unocal’s downstream business. He was named Vice President of Tosco’s Northern California operations in 1998. In 2000, he managed the acquisition of the Wood River refinery in Illinois from Shell. In 2001, he joined Phillips Petroleum as they acquired Tosco and led the integration of the refining organization during the merger with Conoco. In 2006, he was named President, U.S. Refining and gained responsibility for their international operations in 2010.

Larry earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois-Champaign in 1977 and a MBA from the University of Chicago in 1985. He has held a number of industry and community leadership positions including: Chairman of AFPM (the petrochemical and refining industries’ main trade association); Vice Chairman of the API Downstream Committee; Chairman of American Jobs for America’s Heroes Campaign; and Board Member of the Western States Petroleum Association. He currently serves on the Board of Duchesne Academy in Houston and chairs the Finance Committee.
