Sam Laney is a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in multiplatform content marketing and production. Currently serving as the Director at PBS since September 2015, Sam leads content marketing campaigns and enhances the discoverability of PBS Digital platforms. Previously, Sam held multiple freelance roles from June 2000 to October 2022, concentrating on video game writing, industry event coverage, and various web production capacities. At Stars and Stripes from December 2007 to September 2015, Sam curated and produced content for the iPad edition, managed wire services, and oversaw editorial production while performing copy editing and page design. Sam holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, obtained in 2007.
