Marcel Schmittfull

Marcel Schmittfull currently serves as a Researcher at PDT Partners since December 2020. Previously, Marcel was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study from October 2016 to December 2020, focusing on regression models, analysis methods for complex non-Gaussian data, and forecasting. Before that, Marcel held a similar position at the University of California, Berkeley from October 2013 to September 2016, where work included accelerating model evaluations and addressing biases in lensing measurements. Marcel began a research career as an Undergraduate Researcher in machine learning at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems from July 2007 to September 2008. Academic qualifications include a PhD and MASt in Applied Mathematics from the University of Cambridge, complemented by studies at Heidelberg University and the University of Tübingen.
