Dr. Alison Fry is a board-certified family physician who joined PeakMed Primary Care in January of 2016. Dr. Fry enjoys the full spectrum of family medicine and has a special interest in employer-based health and wellness. She is fluent in Spanish. After graduating from Beloit College in Wisconsin, Dr. Fry had the opportunity to travel to Central America and work in a Salvadoran refugee camp in Honduras. This experience demonstrated the importance of health to the foundation of political, social, and economic development. It was this experience that motivated Dr. Fry to pursue a career in medicine. Dr. Fry received her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL in 1994. She moved to Arizona for her family medicine residency with Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in 1994 and received the "Family Practice Resident of the Year" award as a senior resident in 1997. After completing her residency, Dr. Fry worked with the National Health Service Corps at community health centers in New Mexico and Arizona. Since working in community health, Dr. Fry has worked in a variety of practice settings including private practice, urgent care, employer-based health centers (Intel in Phoenix and Qualcomm in San Diego), and a hospital-based practice here in Colorado Springs. While working as a medical director at the employer-based health centers, Dr. Fry advocated for a team approach to patient care. She coordinated a chronic disease management program for patients with diabetes and worked together with a team of health professionals (dieticians, case managers, counselors, and personal trainers) to provide a comprehensive care plan. All of these experiences have led Dr. Fry to find a better way to practice medicine and provide care to her patients. She believes in spending time with patients and building relationships and feels that the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model allows her to best care for her patients.
