Rui Shi

Assistant Professor Of Chemical Engineering at Penn State University

Rui Shi is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at Penn State University since September 2020. Prior to this role, Rui Shi worked as a Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from August 2018 to April 2020. Rui Shi gained international experience with the United Nations in various capacities, including as an Analyst for the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, where responsibilities involved managing the Fifth Meeting of the Expert Group on Environment Statistics and supporting the United Nations Statistical Commission's Climate Change session. Rui Shi also interned with the United Nations Executive Office of the Secretary-General as part of the Climate Change Support Team, assisting in the organization of the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Change Summit. Additionally, while at the UN Environment Programme, Rui Shi contributed research on renewable energy for Caribbean Small Island Developing States.
