Ronan O’Neill

Ronan O’Neill is an Independent Non-Executive Director at Permanent TSB. Ronan has over twenty years of experience in the banking industry, having worked in various positions at AIB, Woodlands Advisors, and AIB Group (UK) p.l.c.

O’Neill began their career at AIB Capital Markets in 1997 as Head of Corporate Banking Britain. In 2002, they were promoted to Chief Risk Officer and then to Head of Corporate Banking Ireland in 2006. Ronan served in this role until 2010 when they were appointed Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking at AIB. Ronan held this position until 2011 when they retired from AIB.

In retirement, O’Neill has taken on several non-executive roles, including their current position at Permanent TSB.

Ronan O’Neill was educated at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ACA, 1977; FCA, 1987), University College Dublin (B.Comm, Business/Commerce, General), and Blackrock College.
