Kondo Masahiro

Dr. Kondo Masahiro joined Novartis Animal Health after his degree in veterinary medicine at the Tokyo Univ. of A&T and Ph.D. in comparative reproductive endocrinology.

He worked in R&D, Technical Service and Marketing in both Japan and the EU, and his work included product management for medical devices for intervention therapies in human medicine. Kondo then went on to lead a companion animal business unit for six years at MSD Animal Health Japan and also spent six years managing the Japan Animal Medical Center (JARMeC), an advanced referral animal hospital, from its inception through to preparations for its IPO.

Since 2019, Kondo has played a role in the advanced technology team in Kyoritsu-seiyaku (pharmaceutical) company. Kyoritsu-seiyaku is a part of Kyoritsu Holdings, which has invested in PetMedix as well as being the parent company for a hygiene business (Calmic), a UK-based animal health company, a China joint venture as well as Kyoritsu-seiyaku, a leading Japanese animal health company. Additionally, Kondo is a board member of the equine society and the the vet board of the Japan Equestrian Federation and vice president of NPO Yokohama Equestrian Association.
