Chris Shen

Chris Shen is a Senior Exploration Geoscientist at Petroleum Development Oman since October 2020, specializing in oil prospect maturation and drilling. Prior to this role, Chris worked at Shell, NAM from September 2016 to October 2020 as an Exploration Geoscientist, focusing on seismic interpretation, well planning, and project management for exploration opportunities in The Netherlands. From June 2006 to June 2016, Chris held a similar position at Shell, BSP, managing seismic interpretations and well delivery processes for offshore exploration in Brunei. Earlier experience includes developing in-house scientific computing tools as a Geophysicist at Shell and contributing to photonic crystals research as a Research Assistant at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and Leiden University. Chris holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Groningen, a Master of Science in Astrophysics from the Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics from Nanjing University.
