Ginandjar Kartasasmita

Indonesian citizen, 81 years old, was appointed as Commissioner during the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on 2 September 2022.

Previously, he served as Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (2019-2024), Acting Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (2014-2019), Member of the Advisory Council of the President of Republic of Indonesia (2009-2014), Chairman of the House of Regional Representatives (DPD) (2004-2009), Vice Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) (1999-2004), Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Finance & Industry (1998-1999), Minister of State for National Development Planning/Chairman of National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) (1993-1998), Minister of Mines & Energy (1988-1993), Junior Minister for the Promotion of Domestic Products (1983-1988), Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Agency (1985-1988).

He also served as Member of the International Advisory Board, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) (2018-2019), Chairman of Association of Public Administration Scholars (2005-2010), Chairman of Expert Council of Indonesian Islamic Scholars Association (ICMI) (2005-2010), Professor, National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Tokyo, Japan (2011-2020), Professor, Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies, Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan (2001-2010), Visiting Scholar (2001-2003) as well as Weatherhead Center for International Affairs from Harvard University, Boston, United States of America (2000-2003), Senior Fellow (2000-2001) and Senior Lecturer for Post Graduate Program on Development Studies at Institut Teknologi Bandung (1995-1998).

He served at some of the leading Universities in Indonesia, among others Member & Chairman of the Board of Trustees of University of Pancasila, Jakarta, Member of the Board of Trustee of Dirgantara Institute of Technology, Jakarta, Chairman of the Board at University of Persada, Jakarta, University of Padjajaran, Bandung, University of Pasundan, Bandung, Bandung Islamic University and Bandung University of Education, as well as Founder & Chairman of the Board of Dwiwarna High School, Bogor, West Java.

Currently, he serves as External Administrative Councilor, University of Hiroshima, Japan (2015 until now), Professor of Development Administration at University of Pasundan (2008 until now), Professor of Public Administration at University of Brawijaya (1995 until now), Deputy Chairman at Lippo Group (2015 until now) and Chairman of Indonesia-Japan Friendship Association (2006 until now).
