Linda Garrelts MacLean

Linda Garrelts MacLean is a respected leader who has worked extensively throughout her career to improve and advance how a pharmacist cares for patients in the community pharmacy.

She is a licensed pharmacist, a Clinical Professor, and professor emeritus at the Washington State University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Linda is an active advocate for a future pharmacy practice where community pharmacists practice in a value-based setting, assess patients and are responsible for outcomes, communicating with other health care providers to assure continuity of care. She is also the creator and guest lecturer of two courses—Pharmacy Management and Entrepreneurial Pharmacy.

Over the years, Linda has received several awards for her dedicated service and standard for excellence. She is the past-president of the Washington State Pharmacists Association, is a past trustee for the American Pharmacists Association and also serves as a board member and the vice-president for the Community Pharmacy Foundation, an organization dedicated to maximizing the community pharmacist’s role in improved patient care.

Recognizing the unintended consequences that occur when medications are not properly monitored and managed, Linda is passionate about establishing new models for community pharmacy practice to optimize medication through patient-centered collaborative care.
