Sean Casey

Sean Casey is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in governance and risk management, serving as a Chartered Director at the Institute of Directors in Ireland since 2017. Currently, Sean holds multiple significant positions, including Board Chair of Phoenix Life Assurance Europe and Chair of the Pension Trustee Board Phoenix Ireland at Phoenix Group since 2018. Additionally, Sean is an Independent Director and Chair of Risk Committees at both Allianz Insurance and Hannover Re Ireland, roles undertaken since 2017. Also holding an Independent Director position at Standard Life Assurance, Sean chairs the Audit Committee. Prior to these roles, Sean was Managing Director at New Ireland Assurance from 1995 to 2016. Educational qualifications include Fellow status from the Society of Actuaries in Ireland and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, along with a Diploma in Corporate Governance from University College Dublin and Chartered Director credentials from the Institute of Directors.
