He started his now 70-year-old career in 1950, opening his first haute couture atelier in Paris and soon becoming a 20th century icon through passionate and successful work. In the 70s he was a true pioneer in that he was the first designer to introduce ready-to-wear in the fashion industry and then created a solid network of licensed partners who would manufacture and distribute a broad range of products under Pierre Cardin trademark. From evening gowns to sport suites, from bags to sun glasses, from chest of drawers to perfumes, most items in the market are now labeled after Pierre Cardin.

Over his records-beating career Monsieur Pierre Cardin has been able to build an empire everyone can be a part of. Each year hundreds of new haute couture models are presented in fashion shows around the globe and a network of trustworthy licensee continues to spread the brand name with mastery craftsmanship and utter care.
