Julianna Smoot

Julianna Smoot is an Operating Advisor at Pilot Growth Equity. Julianna has also served as owner of SMOOT TEWES GROUP, Deputy Assistant to the President and White House Social Secretary at The White House, Chief Of Staff at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, and Deputy Campaign Manager and National Finance Director at Obama for America.

Smoot began their career in 2005 as National Finance Director at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee before moving on to Obama for America in 2007 as National Finance Director. In 2009 they became Chief of Staff at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative before returning to Obama for America in 2010 as Deputy Assistant to the President and White House Social Secretary. In 2011 they became Deputy Campaign Manager for Obama for America's 2012 re-election campaign.

In 2013 Smoot founded SMOOT TEWES GROUP, a political consulting firm. The firm closed in 2018 and Smoot transitioned to their current role as Operating Advisor at Pilot Growth Equity.

Julianna Smoot attended Smith College and earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government.
