Michael W. Delahanty

Dr. Delahanty’s career in education has been varied and noteworthy. He started as a teacher in Standish, Maine in 1980 where he worked for seven years before joining the Salem School District as a principal in 1987. In his time in Salem he served as principal of North Salem School, Woodbury School, and Salem High School. From 2002-2004 he was Assistant Superintendent of the district before being named Superintendent, a position he held until his recent retirement.

He serves on the Board of Directors for the Granite United Way as well as the Center for Life Management and is a member of the Rotary Club of Greater Salem. He has received many awards for his contributions to the greater community, most recently including the Michael Downing Humanitarian Award, the Paul Harris Fellow recognition from the Rotary, and the William Brown Businessperson of the Year Award from the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce. His son graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 2007.
