Pete Luty has over 30 years of work experience in various roles within the engineering and manufacturing fields. Pete began their career as a CAD Drafter at Engineering Resources, Inc. in 1985 and subsequently worked as a CAD Drafter at SSI Shredding Systems, Inc. and Interconnect Technology Inc. In 1988, they joined Praegitzer Design as a Printed Circuit Board Designer.
In 1990, Pete started working at Planar Systems, where they held multiple roles throughout their career. Pete started as a Mechanical Designer/Drafter and then became a Manufacturing Engineer, supporting production equipment and assembly issues. Pete later transitioned into the role of Mechanical Engineer, focusing on product development for the transportation industry.
As their career progressed at Planar Systems, Pete became a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, leading teams in various projects such as New Product Introduction and sustaining engineering. Pete also served as a Document Control Manager, responsible for archiving and revision control of documentation.
In recent years, Pete held the position of Project Manager, overseeing the development of new manufacturing processes and the transfer of manufacturing lines between different locations. Pete then became the Director of Manufacturing Engineering, overseeing the overall manufacturing operations and driving improvements in yields, costs, and product quality.
Pete Luty completed their education in 1985, obtaining an Associates degree in Electro-Mechanical Drafting Technology from the National Education Center. In 2013, they obtained a certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt from the Aveta Business Institute.
