Mona Zhang

Mona Zhang is an accomplished journalist with a focus on cannabis policy, currently serving as the States Cannabis Policy Reporter at POLITICO. Zhang founded and edited Word on the Tree and has experience as a freelance editor and writer. Previous roles include Social Editor at Adweek and various editorial positions at Mediabistro, where responsibilities included coordination of social media efforts. Zhang earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Media Criticism from New York University, complemented by studies at Peking University in 2008.
