Sunny Burns

Sunny Burns currently serves as the Director of Software Engineering at Premera Blue Cross, overseeing technical support for 3,500 employees in a 24/7 IT Command Center environment and managing critical software engineering initiatives. Prior experience at Premera Blue Cross includes roles as Director of Enterprise Platform Operations, IT Application Manager, Business System Manager, Sr Team Lead for Business Systems, and Team Leader for Quality Review and Reporting, where Sunny led high-performing teams, drove IT agile transformations, and fostered cross-functional relationships to align technology with business strategies. Sunny holds a Master of Arts in Policy Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts and Science from the University of Washington, as well as an Associate of Arts and Sciences from Everett Community College.
