Kim Oberle has extensive experience in recreation management and outdoor education. Serving as the Recreation Manager for the Outdoor Recreation and City Lakes unit at the City of Durham Parks and Recreation since June 2005, Kim successfully proposed and implemented the unit in 2006, prioritizing accessibility to outdoor programs for the Durham community. Additionally, as an Adjunct Instructor at North Carolina Central University since January 2009, Kim teaches REC 2230 Camping Skills and Outdoor Recreation, covering essential topics in outdoor recreation. Kim's role as a National Referee Coach for the United States Soccer Federation since January 2010 and as a Referee Coach for the Professional Referee Organization since March 2012 demonstrates a commitment to developing referee skills at all levels of the sport. Kim previously served as the Parks and Recreation Director for the Town of Blowing Rock, NC, from January 2000 to August 2003. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government, both obtained from Appalachian State University.
