Rina Schumer

Rina Schumer is currently a Senior Optimization & Analytics Consultant at Profit Point. Prior to this, they were the Assistant Vice President for Research at Desert Research Institute from February 2016 to December 2020. There, they were a senior scientist and administrator who specialized in mathematical modelling of environmental systems with an emphasis in hydrogeology.

Before their time at Desert Research Institute, Rina Schumer ran their own company, Rina Schumer and Associates. Prior to that, they worked as a geologist for Hydro-Environmental Technologies, Inc. from January 1993 to June 1995.

Rina Schumer holds a Bachelor's degree in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from Wesleyan University. Rina also holds a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Hydrogeology from University of Nevada, Reno and a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from the same university. Additionally, they have a Master of Science in Hydrogeology from University of Nevada, Reno.
