Ama Romaine

Ama Romaine currently serves as General Counsel for Progress Residential® as of September 2023. Previously, Ama held the role of General Counsel for Real Estate Asset Management at Blackstone from April 2022 to September 2023. Ama has also contributed as a Board Member for the International Franchise Association from January 2021 to September 2023 and co-founded The Blue & Black Partnership, serving as Chair of the Governing Board from June 2020 to September 2023. Prior experience includes positions at G6 Hospitality LLC as Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer, at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory as General Counsel & Head of Risk Management, and at Hilton Worldwide as Vice President & Senior Counsel. Additional roles include Senior Counsel at Choice Hotels International and associate positions at Morrison & Foerster and White & Case. Ama's educational background includes a degree from Howard University School of Law, participation in the Women's Leadership Development Program at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University in Humanities/Humanistic Studies.
