Christopher Bawiec

Christopher Bawiec is a highly experienced engineering professional specializing in ultrasound technologies, currently serving as the Vice President of Engineering and Head of Ultrasound at Prophetic since August 2024. Prior to this role, Christopher held positions including Senior Manager of Product and Head of Ultrasound Development at Surf Therapeutics, along with several significant roles at Openwater and the University of Washington's School of Medicine focused on diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound applications. Christopher's earlier research, conducted at Inserm, involved the innovative use of CMUTs for therapeutic applications, complemented by foundational engineering roles at Drexel University, Amnis Corporation, and Spectra Logic. Christopher holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University, a post-doctoral position in Medical Ultrasound from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.
