Donisa Bernardo

Donisa Bernardo recently retired as financial secretary for the Hospital Employees’ Union, having held the position for 12 years and served on its Provincial Executive since 1998. Bernardo sits on the Municipal Pension Plan as a trustee since 2001. In 2014, she was appointed by the Municipal Employees Pension Committee as primary trustee, representing all unions on the MPP Board. She currently serves as chair of the Benefits Committee, and as a member of the Appeals Committee and Governance Committee. Bernardo started her health-care career as a pharmacy technician in 1984. She has been active in various groups, always promoting social justice and feminist issues.
