Anokhi Shah

Anokhi Shah is an experienced legal professional with a focus on criminal defense and mitigation. Currently serving as a Mitigation Specialist Supervisor at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia since September 2018, Anokhi has written detailed reports for juvenile offenders and provided expert support to defense teams. Previous roles include Appellate Counsel at the Center for Appellate Litigation, where representation of indigent defendants took place, and Clinical Internships at the Juvenile Defender Clinic at NYU School of Law and ACLU Capital Punishment Project, where Anokhi focused on juvenile delinquency and capital cases, respectively. Anokhi holds a Juris Doctor degree from New York University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology from North Carolina State University.
