Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani joined QatarEnergy in 1991. He held different positions in the Company including Business Development Manager of Mesaieed Industrial City and Director of Ras Laffan Industrial City before taking over as the Chief Executive Officer of Qatargas in 2010. He also serves as Vice Chairman and CEO of the Qatargas group of companies. He spearheaded the successful integration of the State of Qatar’s two liquefied natural gas (LNG) giants – Qatargas and RasGas – thereby creating the largest producer of LNG in the world with an annual production capacity of 77 million tonnes per annum.
He holds an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University, Washington, United States.
